Short Biography
Rachman Setiawan, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D. is an associate professor in Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (FTMD), Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB). He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from ITB in 1997, his master’s degree in 1999 from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, UK, and his doctoral degree in 2004 from the University of Southampton, UK. Rachman handles the courses in Basic Design of Machine Elements, Mechanical Engineering Design, Numerical Analysis, Engineering Product Design, Engineering Product Prototyping, and Advanced Mechanic in Designing Process. His current research interest is on Structural Crashworthiness, Reliability & Maintenance Engineering, and Optimization.
