Short Biography
Prof. Ir. Zainal Abidin, Ph.D. is a professor in Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (FTMD), Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB). He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from ITB in 1984, his master’s degree in 1988 from Victoria University of Manchester, UK, and his doctoral degree in 1992 from the University of Salford, UK. Zainal handles the courses in System Dynamics, Electric Motors and Drives, Engineering Measurement, Basic of Mechanical Vibration, Introduction to Control Systems, Mechanical Maintenance, Mechatronics Systems Design, System Dynamics, Measurement, Signal Processing, Special Topics in Mechanical A, Control Engineering, and Paper in National Journals/Proceedings. His current research interest is on Vibration-Based Predictive Maintenance.
